The H&D Bulletin a quasi-quarterly publication that opens up and accommodates research and workshop activities of H&D and our larger collective ecosystem of peers, tools and infrastructures. The content of the bulletin derives from – and aims to feeds back into this collective ecosystem.
The design, production and dissemination process of the bulletins is part of H&D’s ongoing research into experimental, open source, DIY publishing tools (often made by repurposing web technologies) and the community surrounding them.
H&D enjoys using free/libre open-source tools over – often more convenient – commercial and proprietary tools. The accessibility of source code allows to be scrutinized, appropriated, contributed to, thus learned from and with the digital tools, software or hardware that we, as designers, artists, technologists and organizers interact with, on a daily basis. The open character of these tools is crucial to our aim to create and engage in egalitarian,self-determined learning experiences.
This edition of the H&D bulletin was composed designed and published using a wiki-to-pdf workflow.
